NBU 7.5.0.6 - Client List & Client Deployment

Good morning,

At the risk of being shot down I have a couple of questions that I wanted to pitch out:-

I am running NBU 7.5.0.6 for Windows - 2008 R2.

1. I would like to get a list of the NBU clients detailing what version they running in order that they can be planned for upgrade. I have found commands that list the clients known but not the version etc.
2. Can I deploy clients for both Windows & UNIX from my Windows NBU console? Is this a case of running browser.exe and following my nose etc? I have downloaded installation guides but didn't know whether the deployment of agents could be invoked from the console.
3. Now - I can add (for example) a new Windows server to an existing policy and the server does get backed up but I have not knowingly installed a NBU agent?

• Is this a legal approach?
• Does a client have to be installed?
• What is the difference between installaing a client and not installing a client?
